cumps.eu runs its own Umami instance on apps1, the same server that serves this page, to see which articles get read and where readers come from. No third-party analytics service ever sees a visit to this site.

What it collects

  • A page view, its referrer (reduced to just the origin, e.g. https://example.com/, never the full URL), and the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign query parameters when present — every other query parameter and the URL fragment are dropped before anything leaves your browser.
  • Your browser’s title, language and screen size, the same way Umami does for every site it measures.
  • An approximate location — country, region and city — looked up from your IP address in a GeoIP database on the same server at the moment of the visit, and stored with the visit.

What it does not collect

  • No cookies. Umami identifies repeat visits with a daily-rotated salted hash, derived from your IP and user agent, never stored as-is and never written to your device.
  • No IP address is stored. The address is used only in memory, for that hash and the location lookup above. The salt rotates every day, so the hash itself cannot be used to track you across days either.
  • No cross-site tracking. The tracker script and the endpoint it reports to are both served from cumps.eu itself, under neutral paths, so no request to any third-party domain is ever made.

Honouring your preferences

The tracker never loads at all if your browser sends Do Not Track (navigator.doNotTrack === '1') or Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl === true). No request of any kind reaches cumps.eu’s analytics endpoint in either case.

Opting out

You can also opt out directly, independently of DNT/GPC, by running this once in your browser’s console on cumps.eu:

localStorage.setItem('umami.disabled', 1)

This is stored in localStorage, so it applies only to that browser profile on that device — set it again on each browser you use if you want it everywhere. Clearing your browser’s site data removes the opt-out too. If your browser blocks localStorage entirely, the tracker does not load either.
