Acutra
Acutra is a transport company specialised in refrigerated and frozen transport, part of the European Groupage network. I built two things for it: an internal register for the maintenance of its fleet in 2003, and its public company site in 2004.
Acutra Onderhoud, the fleet register. Maintenance notes for Acutra’s trucks and trailers used to live on paper, and got lost. Acutra Onderhoud put them in one place on the company intranet: every vehicle with its plate, chassis number, type, brand and purchase date, and its maintenance history, from inspections and mileage to the checks of the refrigeration units. Everything could be updated straight from the site. It ran on PHP and MySQL on Windows NT 4, and the layout used only HTML and CSS, without images, so it loaded instantly. No more lost maintenance notes, and no administrative hassle.
The company site. The public site at acutra.be presented the company in Dutch, English and French. I designed the layout in Photoshop and built it in HTML and CSS, with the languages handled in PHP and the content kept in text files that were easy to update.
Technologies: PHP, MySQL, Windows NT 4, HTML, CSS, Photoshop.
