Imagine Cup 2005 invitation
Every year Microsoft organises the Imagine Cup, its international technology contest for students. For the 2005 edition, Microsoft Belux asked me to design the invitation for students in Belgium and Luxembourg, at the end of 2004, shortly before I started my internship there.
The invitation. It welcomed students to the official Imagine Cup site for Belgium and Luxembourg, explained that year’s theme, dissolving the boundaries between people, and listed the nine categories they could enter, from Algorithm, Software Design and Web Development to Visual Gaming and Short Film, with a trip to the finals in Yokohama, Japan, for the winners. It was signed by Mieke De Ketelaere, Microsoft Belux’s Academic Program Manager.
Futuristic and techy. The look had to appeal to students, so I went for a futuristic, techy style. I designed it in Photoshop and built it in XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.0. A few months later I competed in the same contest myself, in the Information Technology and Visual Gaming categories, which I wrote about in Imagine Cup.
Technologies: XHTML 1.1, CSS 2.0, Photoshop.
