Gemeente Jabbeke
Jabbeke is a municipality in West Flanders. Its website is also its e-loket: residents request documents, permits and subsidies and report issues there. I first added sign-in through the Flemish government’s Burgerprofiel, redesigned the public website in 2024, and I help the municipality with IT whenever they need it.
Signing in with Burgerprofiel. Residents used to need a separate account for the e-loket. In February 2018 I added sign-in through the Flemish government’s identity service, the same login behind Mijn Burgerprofiel, where people identify themselves with their eID or another login from the federal CSAM services. I built it into the existing ASP.NET WebForms site with an OWIN pipeline and OpenID Connect: the site asks for the national register number, and uses it to link the citizen to their e-loket profile. The forms keep working as before, and the old registration and profile screens were simplified now that the government vouches for who someone is. My work for Jabbeke goes back further: in 2014 I had already built an eID sign-in prototype for its e-loket.
A new public website. In 2024 I redesigned the public website: a cleaner homepage with large photography, the main topics in one bar, quick links to opening hours, the digital counter, the recycling park and reporting an issue, and the latest news underneath. Sign-in sits in a single menu at the top, with Mijn Burgerprofiel next to the counters for businesses and associations.
Ongoing help. Beyond these projects, the municipality calls on me for IT help whenever something comes up.
Technologies: C#, ASP.NET WebForms, OWIN, OpenID Connect, Flemish government identity service (ACM/IDM), Burgerprofiel, CSAM, eID, SQL Server, IIS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
